Windows Live Messenger is an instant messaging client for Windows computers (officially, but can be run on virtually any computer with an Internet connection), aimed mainly at home users. The business oriented client, which also uses Microsoft's .NET Messenger Service is called Windows Messenger. There are services to use the messenger on the mobile phone called Windows Live Mobile.
MSN Messenger had more then 7 versions and was named Windows Live Messenger when the 8.0 version arrived. The latest version is now already Windows Live Messenger 2009
